A trademark registration gives the owner the exclusive right to use the trademark in connection with its products or services. Copyright: Copyright protects original works such as books, music, and works of art. Copyright protection gives the creator the exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, and display the work for a specified period of time. Trade Secrets: Trade secrets protect sensitive information that gives companies a competitive advantage, such as: Formulas, processes, customer lists, etc. Trade secret protection gives the owner exclusive rights to use information and prevents others from using it.
